In Port Washington , usually little effort from the shore with a little action; good weather usually brings a few more anglers out. Also, there was moderate effort from the ramp and some action. In Sheboygan , low effort throughout the area with occasional decent catches from the boats and a little action from the piers.
Reports based on personal observations and angler reports from the past three years.
Ramp: Moderate effort and reasonable action with an average of approximately 4 fish per boat landed. Chinook, Coho, rainbows and lake trout were caught. Fish were caught near the surface to 100 feet down in 70 to 170 feet of water with spoons and flasher/dodger flies on planar boards, dipsy divers and downriggers. Conditions: fish were caught when temperatures were in the 50’s and 60’s, when skies were sunny, foggy or cloudy with some rain, and when there were light to moderate winds in a variety of directions or little or no wind.
Pier: Low effort with not much action reported. Carp have been caught.
Power plant: Low effort and a little action. A brown trout was caught on a spawn sack and a rainbow trout was caught on a night crawler; conditions: the water was blue green in color with moderate clarity. Carp, suckers and undersized rainbow trout were also caught.
Harbor: Very little effort and no action.
Cedar Grove:
Ramp: Low effort and the fishing is usually slow but there has been decent action. Chinook, Coho, rainbows and lake trout were caught. Fish were caught near the surface to 100 feet down in 40 to 200 feet of water with spoons and flasher/dodger flies on planar boards, dipsy divers and downriggers. Conditions: fish were caught when temperatures were in the 50’s and 60’s, when skies were sunny, foggy or cloudy with some rain, and when there were light to moderate winds to the west, northwest and northeast.
Piers: Low to moderate effort with very little action. Chinook have been caught; conditions: water temperature was 54-58° F, water color was blue green with moderate to good clarity, air temperature was in the mid to upper 50’s, skies were cloudy or foggy and there was a light to moderate wind to the northwest.
Shore: Usually no effort.
Edgewater power plant: Usually no effort but an occasional angler targeting carp.
