In Port Washington , light fishing effort from shore and very slow or dead, but there has been light effort with decent action from boats. In Sheboygan , light fishing effort with a little action from boats and the piers; also, carp caught behind the power plant.
Reports based on personal observations and angler reports from the past three years.
Ramp: Usually light effort from the ramp with a decent amount of action, most boats reporting 2-3 fish landed. Chinook salmon, Coho salmon, rainbow trout and a lake trout have been caught, 20-100 feet down in 80-240 feet of water with spoons and flashers and flies on planar boards, dipsy divers and down riggers; conditions: air temperature from mid 50’s to low 60’s, overcast to mostly sunny and little or no wind to light to moderate winds to the southwest. Also, brown trout and a lake trout have been caught 15 feet down in 30 feet of water on spoons.
Power plant: Usually light effort in the area with very little action. Rainbow trout have been caught on spawn; conditions: water color was light brown or blue green with low clarity. Also, undersized rainbow trout have been caught on Gulp minnows; conditions: water color was blue green with moderate clarity.
Harbor: Usually little or no effort with no action. Undersized brown trout have been caught.
Pier: Usually little or no effort with no action.
Sauk Creek: Usually no effort.
Cedar Grove:
Ramp: Usually light or no effort and a little action. Brown trout have been caught in the harbor on rapalas, green glo and spoons. Chinook salmon have been caught 60-100 feet down in 100 feet of water with spoons on downriggers and a Coho salmon was caught 25 feet down in 100 feet of water with a spoon on a planar board; conditions: air temperature in the mid 50’s, skies were cloudy and there was a light to moderate wind to the southwest.
Piers: Usually light or no effort but occasional moderate effort and a little action. Brown trout have been caught off the harbor side of the south pier on rapalas, green glo and spoons; conditions: water temperature was 50-56° F, the water was muddy with low clarity. A brown trout was caught off the lakeside of the pier on a spoon at approximately 8 o’ clock in the morning: conditions: water temperature was 50-52° F, water color was blue green with moderate clarity. A lake whitefish was caught off the lakeside of the pier on an alewife at sunset; conditions: water temperature was 50-52° F, water color was greenish brown with moderate to good clarity and the lake was flat, air temperature was in the 50’s, skies were cloudy and there was a moderate wind to the southwest.
Shore: Usually no effort.
Edgewater power plant: Usually very little or no effort and a little action. Carp caught by an angler bow fishing at the outflows behind the plant in the mid afternoon; conditions: air temperature was in the low 40’s, skies were cloudy with a light to moderate wind to the south/southwest.
Weeden’s Creek: Usually no effort.
