The action has usually been slow for the boats and there has either been good action from the piers or none at all.
Reports based on personal observations and angler reports from the past three years.  Please comment or share information.

Port Washington
Ramp: Recently, the action has continued to slow and it appears we’re in a mid summer lull.  The catch has been mostly Chinook but Coho and rainbow trout were occasionally taken by anglers fishing between the thermocline and surface.  Most fish were getting caught in 50 to 150 feet of water.  Successful set-ups included: downriggers (30-70 feet down, dipsy divers (approximately 70-100 feet back) and weapons (approximately 70-100 feet back). All landings reported came on flasher and fly combinations.  Lots of fished were marked and west winds provided cold water but the fish still weren’t cooperating.  The fishing may be slow but some diligent anglers have been rewarded with 20 pound Chinook.  The Lions Club 2011 fishing derby is this weekend.
Over the past few years, there has typically been moderate effort and the action has been mixed, some slow days and some good days.  Catches consisted of Chinook, Coho, rainbow trout and brown trout.  Most fish were caught in 40 to 170 feet of water, with some as far out as 250 feet of water, and 20 to 70 feet down.  Fish were caught with spoons, flasher/dodger flies and j-plugs on downriggers, weapons, dipsy divers and leadcore.  Conditions:  Air temperature was in the low to high 70’s, skies were mostly sunny, there were light winds in a variety of direction and water surface temperature was in the high 50’s to low 70’s.

Pier:  Over the past few years, there has typically been light effort and either good action or no action at all.  Chinook, Coho and a small rainbow trout have been caught, mainly on alewives but occasionally on spoons. Conditions: Water temperature was in the high 50’s, water color was blue green with moderate to good clarity, the lake was choppy, air temperature was in the low to high 70’s, skies were mostly sunny to overcast with occasional heavy rain, there were light to moderate winds in a variety of directions.

Power plant:  There is typically light effort in the area with little action.  Rainbow trout have been caught on spawn sacks.  Conditions:  Water color was blue green with moderate clarity, air temperature was in the high 70’s, skies were overcast with occasional heavy rain and there were moderate wind to the north and east.

Marina: There is typically little effort in the area with no action.

Cedar Grove
Amsterdam Road
ramp:  Usually little or no effort and a little action. Chinook, Coho and rainbow trout have been caught in 40 to 60 feet of water with spoons, flies and j-plugs on dipsy divers.

Sheboygan
Ramp:  The action over the past week has been slow despite reports of good water conditions; large amounts of bait fish are still being marked and could explain the lock jaw.  Chinook made up most of the action but Coho and rainbow trout were also caught.  Fish were caught in 65 to 130 feet of water and scattered throughout the water column.  Dodger/flasher flies were most successful but spoons also worked.  Most set-ups worked (downriggers, dipsy divers, leadcore, copper and planar boards).  Reports have been erratic with no real patterns emerging so experiment with presentations and set-ups to see what is working.
